Increasing your Power Connection Retention with Secure Sleeves
There are many state-of-the-art locking solutions available for Data Center Power. It is a critical component of the stability of your data center, however for some with limited budgets it can be unrealistic to upgrade to the best hardware. For these circumstances, we recommend the simple solution of retention sleeves. These thin plastic sheaths will help reduce the amount of play in the mated power connection point of an IEC 60320 plug or connector. Due to tolerances in manufacturing, sometimes a plug will not securely mate with an outlet or vice versa. When this happens, you can use these sleeves to fill in the gap and create a more secure power connection point.

Frequently asked questions
- Why is there multiple colors for secure sleeves?
- For some customers, they wish the secure sleeve to be easily identifiable for identification in a large set of connections or to stand out when the connection is tampered with. Other customers do not wish their secure sleeves to stand out, and for this we offer the black color which will blend in with the connector end and the equipment connection.
- How do the power cord retention sleeves work?
- Secure sleeves can be affixed to a plug or connector and help make a more secure connection. Although all power cables must conform to stringent size thresholds, sometimes a connection on the small end connected to an outlet on the large end of the threshold can create a loose fit. To solve this problem, these secure sleeves will buffer that extra space and create a snug fit. They can be used with the Plug or Connector for either mating end.
