About NEMA 5-15P/R GFCI EXTENSION CORDS

This product line has listed both MANUAL and AUTOMATIC RESET GFCI power cords. It also has listed both Plug Head and In-Line Housing Styles. If you are looking for a solution to preventing electrical hazard when using a NEMA 5-15P extension cord around your house, you should consider the GFCI protected version. The Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter will monitor the current that is traveling from the line to the load, any deviation from that current can be contributed to a ground fault, which can potentially be life threatening. The GFCI will disconnect the circuit as soon as it notices this current leakage. AUTOMATIC RESET GFCI: Do NOT use with power tools (saws, drills, meat cutters, mixers, or similar) because of the automatic reset function. It should be used in applications that involve refrigerators/freezers or similar. Automatically resets to ON when plugged in or after power interruption. Power Indicator lamp goes OFF if GFCI trips, power is interrupted or GFCI is unplugged. Both automatic and manual reset GFCI types must be manually reset after a ground fault occurrence. MANUAL RESET GFCI:Manual reset is required when plugged in or after power interruption. Power Indicator lamp goes OFF if GFCI trips, power is interrupted or GFCI is unplugged. Manual reset is ideal for protection of power tools and equipment on construction sites and in industrial maintenance environments. Molded triple tap provides GFCI protection for multiple devices. Rugged construction for indoor or outdoor use.
