About NEMA L5-15 Extension Cords
NEMA L5-15P/R TWIST LOCK Extension Cords are rated up to 125VAC and 15A. These extension cords are available in standard molded lengths, custom low volume mounted lengths and colors, and custom high volume lengths and colors. Standard jacket type is SJT. Rubber jacket is available upon request. BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW and other colors available upon request. Standard wire gauge is 14AWG.

The NEMA L5-15P is a 3 Wire 3 Blade grounded plug featuring 3 Blades arranged in a tight circular pattern rated up to 125V AC and 15 Amps.. The plug locks to the connector by twisting into place. Locking cords are typically used in industrial applications to ensure that accidental power loss does not occur due to a loose connection.

The NEMA L5-15R is a twist-locking NEMA connector that is rated for 125VAC and 15 Amps of power in North America. The Twist Lock configuration can lock into place by twisting the plug and connector after mating.
