Dual-Lock power cord functionality
The D-Lock is a dual locking power cord, meaning that both ends (male and female, plug and connector, line and load) feature locking technology. The plug end of the cable, that will connect to a power source utilizes the P-Lock plug type, available in IEC320 C14 and C20. This plug type will latch into place on Raritan, Server Tech, GELU and Emerson Vertiv PDUs and is not universally functional as a locking plug, as it needs a specific outlet faceplate style to latch into to engage the locking tabs. The connector features the universal locking S-Lock connector available in IEC320 C13, C15, and C19. This locking mechanism is universal, meaning it is not brand-specific and will mate and lock with any standard matching IEC 60320 Inlet. The lock is engaged by turning the gray rotary lock on the cable grip of the connector head.
Benefits of the Dual-Lock & secure power connections
The importance of secure power connections in critical systems cannot be understated. Data Center engineers spec in redundant power supplies, stand by UPS systems, and countless power-related systems to ensure the equipment that runs the internet will never cease to operate. If you consider the quantity of rackmount servers, switches and other equipment in the data center you begin to realize how many end-of-the-line power connections there are, and potential weak links in the power supply chain to the equipment. With thousands of these connection points, it is hard to ensure all of them are secure and will not become loosened during operation, or during maintenance of nearby equipment. Secure power connection points remove this insecurity and help create more continuity of thoroughness throughout the power supply chain to the rack mounted equipment.

About Dual-Locking Power Cord
The Dual Lock Power Cables are a newly released product series that feature the standard P-Lock plug type, and the newly introduced Rotary-Style Universal Locking IEC 60320 Connector. This connector type will mate and lock with any matching IEC320 Inlet. It functions by twisting the grey rotary swivel located near the cable grip on the plug head. This will internally pinch and un-pinch the pins of the mating inlet, effectively locking it into place. These power cables are used in Data Centers primarily, as they feature state of the art technology on standard IEC 60320 extension cables which is generally justified for only critical systems of a Data Center.
