About IEC 60320 P-Lock (male) Power Cords
P-Lock locking design to secure your power connection into the PDU
The IEC 60320 P-Lock power cords come with the locking plug (male) that securely locks into place when used with a matching inlet. These proprietary locking systems can be used with Server Technology, Raritan, Emerson Vertiv and GELU Power Distribution Units. For connector options, we offer all of the standard IEC320 Connectors in many different colors and lengths for all types of data racks. The Locking Plug design helps reduce the chance that your equipment will be unplugged and is one of many solutions to help get your down time closer to zero.
P Lock power cord options
The P-Lock Configuration comes in both the IEC 60320 C14 and the IEC 60320 C20 Plug types. Both plug types feature the same symmetrical locking design push tabs and come in countless power cable variations. The C14 will connect with a standard C13 Outlet, and the C20 will mate with the heavy duty C19 outlet. These are the two most commonly found outlets in a Data Center and are found commonly on Rack mounted PDUs.

The IEC 60320 C14 P-Lock Plug is designed for use with ServerTech and Raritan data center PDUs. The locking tabs on each side prevent the plug head from nuisance unplugging by hooking into the PDU unit. The plug can easily be removed by pressing down on the tabs located on each side.

The IEC 60320 C13 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 15 Amps. The C13 mates with a C14 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. Most people know the C13 as 'the thing that plugs into my computer' because it is the standard connector used to power most desktop computers. In a desktop computer application, the most common cable is the NEMA 5-15P to C13, which connects your standard North American wall outlet to a desktop computer.

The IEC 60320 C20 P-Lock is rated for 20A and 250V and is specially made for connecting to ServerTech and Raritan Locking PDUs. The Plug locks into place by hooking into the plug outlet with the two tabs on each side of the Plug. The plug can easily be removed by pushing down on both tabs of the plug.

The IEC 60320 C19 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 20 Amps. The C19 mates with a C20 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. The C19 is typically used in high powered blade server chassis, large network routers, and other IT equipment that draws more power than a standard C13 can accommodate.

The IEC 320 C15 Power cable is used to power electrical devices that emit so much heat (intentionally or unintentionally) that they require a power connection that can withstand more than the 70 °C (158 °F) temperature rating of the standard C13. In combination with the C14 plug type, the use cases of this high-temperature cable are almost exclusively data center environments. This cable would most likely be found supplying a High-Powered Switch power from a rack-mounted PDU power supply source. If your equipment has a IEC320 C16 Inlet it should only be mated with the matching C15-Power Connector.

About IEC 60320 P-Lock (male) Power Cords
The P-Lock is a robust and effective locking design that will engage upon insertion by clasping the inlet with the two plastic tabs on opposing sides of the plug head. To disengage the locking mechanism, simply squeeze the tabs into the plug head and pull. This design, however, is only effective with select PDU models. These include the Server Technology, Raritan, GELU and Emerson Vertiv Power Distribution Units. These proprietary PDUs have outlets with the necessary recessed faceplates, to provide a solid surface to latch against. We stock these power cables in many lengths, colors, jacket types and wire gauges with specific connector configurations to power all of your rackmount devices.
