If you are traveling in to the United States, you will need to adapt your Europlug to a configuration that is used in North America. The NEMA plug types are used in the U.S.A. and the euro-plug equivalent is the NEMA 1-15P. The NEMA 1-15P is a 2 Wire 2 Blade ungrounded plug rated at 125V and 15 Amps in North America. The use of NEMA 1-15R (the receptacle matching the 1-15P) is discontinued in new home installations in the U.S (since 1962). NEMA 1-15P are compatible with the NEMA 5-15R outlet.

The Europe CEE7/16 2Pin is a 2 pole, ungrounded plug that is rated for 250V and 2.5A. Also known as the Europlug, this is physically not compatible with similar looking receptacles installed in the UK and Ireland, due to protection against over current and conflicting legislative safety standards.
