About TAA Power Cords
What is TAA compliance? Trade Act Agreement definition and example.
The US enacted this agreement so that large government projects totaling more than $193,000 must be procured using only “US-made or designated country end products.” TAA-compliant countries include World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement countries, free trade agreement partners, Countries on the U.N. least-developed countries list, and Caribbean Basin Initiative countries. This allows the United States to support its close allies and countries trying to make a name for themselves.
TAA compliant meaning regarding products like power cables.
Trade Act Agreement Compliance for power cables means that they must be produced or undergo substantial changes in a country listed as approved under the Trade Act Agreement. For example, if we do not have a product that is TAA-Approved, we will sometimes re-attach another cable connector to change the product substantially enough in the United States for it to be deemed worth for government use.
Does the TAA approval affect the power cord or product in any way?
The product has no functional difference from a Non-TAA compliant product, the initiative was set up so that the United States government is not funding competing countries through their internal projects. With that said, some materials and skilled labors are better in some countries than others so overall quality of the product could be affected but that is not subjective enough to define.
