About Power Supply Cords

Made-To-Order power supply cables.

All of these power cables are made to order, and if you do not see a specific configuration please reach out to our team and there is a good chance we will have the components in stock. We have created a system to internally allocate our lowest priced components in stock to deliver at low cost, made to order electrical pigtails for your project or one-off circumstance. These power cords are inherently dangerous, as they can access electrical power from power outlets, and have exposed conductors. These products are generally only handled by trained professionals while manufacturing components, or electricians when installing a power source. We strongly discourage untrained customers from attempting to install these products.

Repeat orders and OEM open order electrical power supply cables.

We work with many OEM customers in the United States, providing exceptional products through a partnership that helps deliver superior products on-time. As an electrical wholesaler, we naturally have the ability to reduce the cost of power supply cables with a vast inventory and dedicated team that have been collectively doing this for 50 years.

The NEMA 5-15P is a 3 Wire grounded plug featuring two blades (can be equal or unequal widths due to the ground pin forcing polarity) and one ground pin rated up to 125V AC and 15 Amps. The NEMA 5-15P is your standard household plug used for to connect small appliances such as TV's, Microwaves, hairdryers, etc to a wall outlet. The NEMA 5-15P is compatible with a Nema 5-20R T-Slot outlet, which is commonly found in new home installations.

The IEC 60320 C14 is a grounded 3 Wire Plug rated up to 250V and 15 Amps. The C14 mates with a C13 outlet, typically found on Data Center/IT specific PDUs (Power Distribution Unit). The most common configuration for a C14 is in a jumper cable scenario, providing power from a PDU to IT Equipment.

The IEC 60320 C13 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 15 Amps. The C13 mates with a C14 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. Most people know the C13 as 'the thing that plugs into my computer' because it is the standard connector used to power most desktop computers. In a desktop computer application, the most common cable is the NEMA 5-15P to C13, which connects your standard North American wall outlet to a desktop computer.

What Are Hard-Wired ROJ / Pigtail Power Supply Cords?

A hard-wired ROJ cord (also called an electrical pigtail or power whip) has a moulded plug or connector on one end and bare, stripped, and tinned open wires on the other — ready to land directly into a terminal block, chassis, or equipment enclosure without an additional connector.

ROJ stands for Removal Of Jacket: the outer cordage jacket is stripped back a set distance, and each individual conductor is stripped and optionally tinned to your specification.

Common applications

  • OEM equipment wiring where a fixed connector would add cost or bulk
  • PDU and data-centre rack builds requiring direct wire termination
  • Industrial machinery and control panels needing UL/cUL-listed input leads
  • Replacement service leads for appliances and HVAC equipment

How to specify your cord

  • Plug/connector family: NEMA, IEC 60320, IEC 60309, or international
  • Wire gauge & current rating: 18 AWG (10 A) through 10 AWG (30 A)
  • Overall length and ROJ/strip length — both configurable on made-to-order SKUs
  • Certifications needed: UL, cUL, RoHS, REACH, OVE, BSI, INMETRO, and more available

Frequently asked questions

Are there bulk discounts for these electrical pigtails?
Yes. We offer open orders, and bulk discounts for these electrical pigtail cables. For our largest discounts ask for a quote from our factory with MOQs of 500pcs, and lead times of 3-6 Months.
Are custom lengths available for request?
Yes. All of our Electrical Pigtails are made in-house using our stock molded power cords. We have standard lengths and configurations listed, but we can product almost any unique overall length, and ROJ length/ conductor strip length upon request.
Can I customize the ROJ and Strip Lengths of the Pigtail?
Yes. We utilize state of the art programmable machines that will accurately and precisely strip the wires from their protective jacket without compromising the electrical ampacity of the stranded conductors by nicking the small strands.
How long of a Lead Time will it take to produce these cables?
For stock components, generally no more than 5 days. We have an extensive selection of molded plug and connector power cables, that we leverage to provide our customers with an easy and low-cost solution for these otherwise difficult to come by power cables. When we have cables in stock to produce the specific pigtail cable, it will generally take our team no longer than 5 business days to complete production depending on the time of year and current que list.
What does ROJ mean on a power cord?
ROJ stands for Removal Of Jacket. It describes the process of stripping back the outer cordage jacket a specified distance to expose the individual conductors, which are then stripped and optionally tinned. The result is a cord with a plug or connector on one end and bare, ready-to-terminate wires on the other — ideal for direct connection to terminal blocks or equipment chassis.
What is the difference between a pigtail cord and a standard power cord?
A standard power cord has a moulded plug on one end and a moulded connector (e.g., IEC 60320 C13) on the other, so it connects two finished devices. A pigtail (ROJ) cord has a plug or connector on one end and open, stripped wires on the other, allowing direct hardwire termination inside equipment. Pigtails are common in OEM builds, PDU assemblies, and industrial panels where an external connector is unnecessary.
Can I order a custom ROJ strip length or jacket removal length?
Yes. Made-to-order SKUs on this page allow you to specify both the overall cord length and the ROJ (jacket removal) and individual conductor strip lengths. Enter your requirements at checkout or contact the sales team directly. Minimum order quantities may apply for non-standard strip specifications.
Are these pigtail cords UL listed and RoHS compliant?
Many SKUs in this collection carry UL and cUL listings, and a large portion are RoHS and REACH compliant. Additional certifications available include OVE, BSI, IMQ, INMETRO, and VDE depending on the specific cord. Certification marks are shown on each product card — filter by the certification you need using the sidebar filters on this page.
